    SAHO Awards Night

    The SAHO Awards Night and Banquet was held Tuesday, April 13th in the evening following a day of conference activities. The evening included greetings from Saskatchewan Minister of Health Don McMorris, presentation of the SAHO Award and the Green Ribbon Awards and a key note presentation from Michael Clarkson on How to Make Stress and Fear Work for You.

    SAHO Award
    Every year SAHO honours an outstanding graduate of the Edwards School of Business, University of Saskatchewan Masters in Health Care Administration Program. This 2010 recipient was Tyrone Okrainetz.

    Green Ribbon Awards
    SAHO’s Green Ribbon Awards are presented annually at the SAHO Conference. These awards honour SAHO member organizations that have demonstrated innovation in the delivery of health care services with creativity, teamwork, careful planning and evaluation, and results. Awards are based on point scores given by a panel of independent, volunteer judges.

    In 2010 four organizations received Green Ribbon Honourable Mentions. They were Northern Health Communities Partnership, Saskatchewan Prevention Institute, Cypress Health Region and the Saskatoon Health Region.

    SAHO CHE Award
    In 2010, SAHO will launch an annual $500 award for up to four employees of SAHO member agencies who are taking the Certified Health Executive (CHE) program from the Canadian College of Health Service Executives.  This award was established with funding turned over to SAHO by the Saskatchewan Association of Health Services Executives after it dissolved in 2008. For over 40 years the organization promoted excellence in health services management with the primary objectives of providing learning opportunities, networking and member representation.
