The SAHO Conference is attended by delegates from the health care community including CEOs, directors, managers and department heads, and representatives from government, educational institutions and professional associations. The conference is also attended by trustees from Saskatchewan’s regional health authorities and board members from a wide variety of independent health agencies and organizations. This two-day event is a forum for presenting the latest information on health care policy and practices, as well as innovations in providing care. The 2010 Conference featured 3 keynote addresses, concurrent sessions, the Gilbert Wright/Smith-Walshaw poster presentations and the SAHO Green Ribbon Awards. The SAHO Annual General Meeting is held in the afternoon of the second day of the conference. New This Year: SAHO offered its Transferring Lifting Repositioning (TLR®) Program© on the first day of the conference. This program was developed by SAHO to assist employers in meeting the requirements related to safe patient handling as prescribed in The Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations. The 2010 Exhibition featured 99 exhibitors and is one of Western Canada's largest health-care trade shows. The audience included 250 conference delegates, 300 exhibiting staff, and 100 non-delegate visitors. The exhibition is open to the public and there is no cost to attend.
